Be Present

Be Present – lets  ponder on that for a minute. Such an important  part of our meaningful existence and impactful life. To be successful and drive results we need to  bring our whole self – we need to be present. As I raise 3 children of varied ages myself, I always wonder, worry about “Am I doing a good job raising them? Am I leaving holes in their upbringing?” More I think about this, more I realized there is no recipe, no accurate one size fits all answer. Also every child we raise, we use different methods to motivate, drive the message home, support mechanisms and  even discipline. We are trying to achieve single goal of raising respectful, successful and decent human beings but how we achieve that varies from one child to next. So as a parent, here is one thing I know I have to do all the time and that is to BE PRESENT. I have to be there every day and that Is what I owe to them – that is what I signed up for when I decided to have a child. There are days when its tough, working parents are exhausted, would be nice to take an evening to your self.. Bring your entire self to be there for them every day, be around them as much as possible, be present because that drives a very powerful message to your children – that you care about them. You will than be able to drive accountability from them and you will gain a small peace of mind for yourself that would say – I am doing my part the best I can and I share with them my most valuable resource – Time. We have limited time with our kids as they grow up, make the best of it. Be there to stop them when doing wrong, be there to support and congratulate when they do right, be there to debate/argue with your teenager, be there to deliver your purpose and accountability given by God- Just Be There..
